Dr. Bobby Gill
Dr. Bobby Gill
Dr. Bobby Gill has been proudly serving the eye care needs of Cypress and Northwest Houston for more than two decades. A graduate of Cy-Fair High School, Dr. Gill is deeply rooted in the community he cares for and is known for his commitment to excellence in ophthalmic care.
​He earned both his medical degree and completed his residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB), where he was awarded the prestigious Jeanie B. Kempner Scholarship for academic distinction. During his residency, he conducted innovative research and published several scientific papers contributing to the field of ophthalmology. To further refine his clinical skills, Dr. Gill completed fellowship training at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London—one of the leading eye centers globally.

Dr. Elvia Canseco
Dr. Elvia Canseco
Elvia Canseco, M.D., is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in advanced cataract surgery, refractive surgery, complex anterior segment surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Born in Mexico City and raised in the southern State of Chiapas, Mexico, Dr. Canseco moved to Houston for college. After graduating cum laude from Rice University with a B.A. in Biology, Dr. Canseco completed her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Tufts University/Caritas St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston. She returned to Texas to complete her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, followed by a Cornea, Refractive, and Anterior Segment Surgery Fellowship through Tufts University and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston in Boston, MA, before returning to Houston. Dr. Canseco has served as a program instructor for the NASA Astronaut Training Program "Eye Emergencies and Basic Eye Care" and for the UT Houston Emergency Medicine Department's "Ophthalmic Trauma and Emergencies" among other programs. She has also appeared on Univision's morning show in Houston to discuss topics on eye health on several occasions. Dr. Canseco is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. She is an active member of Women in Ophthalmology, Houston Ophthalmology Women, Houston Ophthalmological Society, the American Medical Women's Association and the Texas Ophthalmological Association. She has been recognized locally by her peers with multiple Houstonia Magazine Top Doctor awards and nationally with Super Doctors Rising Stars awards and as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2017. Dr. Canseco has also been recognized by her patients with a Vitals Patient's Choice Award and a U.S. News & World Report Patients' Top Choice Award.

Dr. Michelle Nguyen

​Dr. Michelle Nguyen
Dr. Michelle Nguyen is a therapeutic optometrist who specializes in diagnosing and managing ocular disease, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma and dry eyes.  She also manages the postoperative care of patients after cataract surgery and other eye procedures.
​Dr. Nguyen is a native Houstonian. She attended the University of Houston for her undergraduate studies before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She completed clinical rotations at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the University of Houston Eye Center in the Heights.
​In her free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys being outdoors- whether it be camping, cycling, hiking, playing tennis - and spending time with family and friends.

Daniel Sianez
Daniel Sianez
Lead​ Ophthalmic Technician​​​​

​Daniel Sianez is a Certified Ophthalmic Technician with over 25 years of experience and has been with North Cypress Eye Center for over 12 years. With over two decades of hands-on experience, Daniel brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for patient care to the practice. Daniel truly loves what he does and is dedicated to making a positive impact every day. Known for his dedication and rapport with patients, he has created lasting relationships in the field.​
​Outside of work, Daniel is a lifelong Houston Astros fan and a devoted baseball enthusiast. When not cheering on the Astros, he enjoys coaching his daughter’s softball team—a role that combines his love for the game and his commitment to family. Most of all, Daniel values quality time with his wife, daughter, and son—whether it's a weekend at the ballpark, a backyard barbecue, or simply spending time together at home.​
​A true Houston Astros fan, Daniel's enthusiasm is infectious both at home and in the office.

Kara Poggenpohl
Kara Poggenpohl
Director of Optical Department​​

​Kara Poggenpohl is a proud native Houstonian, a graduate of Jersey Village High School, and a former college student in Hawaii. Growing up in a strong military family, Kara was raised with core values centered on discipline, dedication, and service to others — principles that continue to guide her every day. With over 30 years of experience as a nationally certified optician, Kara had the privilege of managing optical practices across Texas, Hawaii, and California — from the VA to multi-million-dollar operations. One of the highlights of her career was opening the first non-military optical dispensary on Camp Pendleton, a milestone she is incredibly proud of.
​Kara is passionate about providing outstanding customer service and loves working and living in a community where she can help her neighbors every day. Whether fitting glasses or recommending the latest optical technology, Kara is committed to helping every patient see their best — and look their best — with personalized care, the most up-to-date products, and a genuine dedication to service.
